The organization’s primary focus is connecting businesses and residents in Bensalem and the Bucks County and Philadelphia areas. We do this by hosting monthly meetings and annual events.

Our monthly meetings will generally be on the second Thursday of the month. They can be at lunchtime or in the evening. The hosting company is allowed to pick the time of the meeting so times will change. If the hosting company wants to do the meeting in the morning we will have it on Friday morning. You can check the events section for times and locations of our meetings, and meetings are not mandatory for members but we do recommend them as that is when we do most of our networking.

Our yearly events help us connect with each other and our community on a more personal level. These are paid events for members only as we welcome sponsors to help us provide for this special occasion. We also have sponsorship opportunities with the yearly events.

Founder & President

Pondeli Hajioannou created a Bensalem business organization in 2009 after talking to Bensalem Mayor, Joseph DiGirolamo, about the devastation small businesses were facing following the 2007-8 financial crisis. Bensalem Mayor a former business owner himself suggested to Pondeli take on this challenge to help others. “All you need is one other business owner to join you and you have an organization”.

With this encouragement he invited a handful of business owners to his business Philadelphia Private Gym to start his first nonprofit business group to help local businesses. 

Since then Pondeli has started a 501c3 nonprofit business group Bensalem Business Directory that is not just for local businesses.

And now 2022 the group is DBA itself as the Business Friendly Organization to help people understand the organization is not a local one and is friendly to all businesses.

“No one should feel they are alone and cannot make it. It is wrong to feel that you are judged or you will not be allowed to try because you are not worthy. No one is told they cannot join because of skin or gender or anything else, all you have to be is a good person who wants to treat people the way you are treated, and that’s it.”

Pondeli and his wife Marian own and operate Philadelphia Private Gym. Located right off I-95 in Bensalem PA. Since 2000 this full scale (4,000 sq./ft.) gym 6 days a week does only one trainer one client personal training by appointment. As an established business catering to people who want personal training in a private gym. Pondeli has the freedom to run the Business Friendly Organization.

The Business Friendly Organization reserves the right to deny membership to any applicant. The BFO takes no responsibility for the actions of any of the members of the organization as we are not a representative of any specific member. We encourage everyone to be morally and ethically responsible in all matters and to not take part in any illegal activity. If your actions are deemed unethical or illegal, BFO reserves the right to remove you from our membership with no notice.
